I plan to install a removeable innerstay so that I can hank on a storm sail. I have checked with several rigging shops including Mack Sail in Florida. They agree that it is a sound idea if I use a detachable stay adjuster so I can move the stay back to the mast secured at the speader and attached to an eye plate on deck. The wire angle will be aproximately the same as the forestay. I also will use running back stays. I had a ss plate made to bolt to the foredeck, just behind the windlass to hold the stay and a hound on the mast between the top and the spreaders. I will only use this when I have the jib furled, not as a staysail. Marc (folie douce0
