I really can't speak to where you should spend your time in the Caribbean, any place sounds better to me then winter in Minnesota. There is a very good article in the March 2004 issue of Cruising World written by Don Street concerning returning from the Caribbean. Specifically he recommends leaving Cape Hateras 30 miles to your east, by going in at Beaufort and taking the ICW, or, 200 miles to your west, well offshore. Your trip sounds fun, let me know if there's room for another boat down there. We're preparing for a 2006 cruise.
