We have been sailing our MkI (Falcon) now for two seasons. And motoring enough in demanding conditions to notice that the beast has a propensity for over heating under load (RPM 2200). Most times she will run all day long at 1800 RPM and push us at approx. 5 to 6 knots. We have sound proofed the engine compartment so I believe the air circulation has been cut down, but the condition existed prior to that upgrade al-be-it maybe to a less extent. I have removed the heat exchanger and flushed it , so I donít think there is any old impeller parts hanging around. This season I am installing a solar powered exhaust vent dedicated to keeping air moving through the engine compartment. Past these steps I was wondering if there are any others that have had this problem and managed to solve them or do they have this reputation.
