My rock band, Salvadore Dali Llama recently recorded and released (1 January 2010)  my original song
Blue Green Sea,”
inspired by sailing Galena.

Here is how the song came about:
Our band gets together each summer for "band bonding" sailing trips.  We have played together and been friends since back in the mid 70s when we first met and toured in Alaska and the northwest.  We all love to sail and everyone loves the Alberg - esp. our bass player who is over 6'4" and can  stand up in the cabin! (The Buehler I built had only about 5'10" headroom, and we used to joke he needed a hard-hat to sail). Several times we have booked engagements out in the San Juan Islands, sailed to the gig (my long-suffering wife driving the van full of gear to the ferry terminal).  One particular trip, after a rough winter, we experienced an incredible range of sailing conditions and delightful weather followed by an especially well-received show.   Tired, but basking in the afterglow of an intense but rewarding weekend, the song just popped into my head as I was 'noodling' on the guitar.  The rest of the guys liked the idea so we quickly recorded it in our basement studio.
